KOCHI: A foreigner was injured after falling into a pothole on the road in Fort Kochi. The injured person is Orly, a 55-year-old woman from the United States. Orly suffered a head injury. She fell near a pothole near the entrance to the Fort Kochi beach. Orly was immediately taken to the Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital. It is reported that she was released after primary treatment. Thousands of tourists visit Fort Kochi every day.
Despite spending crores of rupees on Fort Kochi Beach, which is among the best beaches in Kerala, the deplorable condition has not changed. This time, the state government has set aside five crore rupees in the budget for the renovation of Fort Kochi Beach. The new announcement in the budget comes after KMRL announced a project of one and a half crore rupees two years ago and the work has continued without completion.
Even though the tourist season has started, only a handful of foreigners come to Kochi, and that too only to see the Mattancherry Palace and the Jewish synagogue. 90 percent of the chairs on the beach's sidewalk have been destroyed by anti-social elements.
