KOLLAM: CCTV footage of the telephone post being placed across the railway tracks in Kundara has been released. The footage shows two youths putting the telephone post across the tracks. The investigation is currently underway. An old post that had been placed near the road for a long time was placed here.

The telephone post placed across the railway tracks was noticed at around 2 am today. It was spotted by a passenger. The incident was then reported to the Ezhukon police. Police officers arrived and removed the post.

Someone again placed the post across the railway tracks after the police left. A major tragedy was averted as it was discovered in time. The police and Punalur railway authorities are investigating the incident. They are also examining the possibility of sabotage.

More people were involved, says locals

The post cannot be moved here just by one or two people. This post has been leaning against the road for years. At least four people must be there. Someone did this on purpose. After the first one was placed, the police removed it. After the police left, they placed it again a second time. Again the police came and removed it. They must have come from far away,' said the locals.
