KOLLAM: Two persons have been arrested in connection with placing a telephone post across the railway track in Kundara. The arrested persons are Kundara native Rajesh and Perumpuzha native Arun. Earlier, CCTV footage had surfaced showing two young men dragging and placing the post across the railway track. The accused were arrested during an investigation carried out based on this footage. The post, which had been lying near the roadside for a long time, was moved to the railway tracks.

It was a passenger who first spotted the telephone post lying across the railway track at around 2 am today. Following this, the passenger immediately informed the Ezhukon police. Police officers arrived at the scene and removed the post. However, after the police left, someone placed another post across the tracks again. Fortunately, it was detected in time, preventing a major disaster. The police and Punalur railway authorities are currently investigating the incident.
