KOCHI: A young woman died in a scooter accident in the city. The accident occurred when a scooter she was riding lost control and crashed into a car near Kalamassery. Bushara Beevi, a native of Thrikkakara, died in the accident on Saturday afternoon. Locals blame the unscientific construction of the road in the area where the accident occurred. Locals came forward, raising this issue.

One part of the road where the accident occurred has been tarred. However, the other part has been paved with interlocked tiles. There is a difference in height where these two parts of the road meet. The scooter driven by Bushara Beevi ran into this intersection and lost control. The young woman fell from the scooter and ended up under the car. Bushra Beevi died before she was taken to the hospital. Locals say that vehicles have been involved in accidents at this location before.

Locals also blame the location for its combination of curves and descents, along with the low elevation of the road. Due to the structure of the road, the risk of accident is high. Two-wheelers are the most common victims of accidents in this area. There is also a need to resolve the unscientific construction as soon as possible. The body of Bushra, who died in the accident, is currently kept at Kalamassery Medical College.
