WAYANAD: In a shocking incident, a youth beat his mother to death in Attappadi. The dead is 55-year-old woman identified as Reshi of Aralikonam Ooru. The police have taken Reshi's son Raghu (36) into police custody.

The locals found Reshi lying in a pool of blood Sunday early morning at around 4. Attempts were made to save her life but it did not yield any results. Police said Raghu hit her on her head with a hollow brick. Many including the locals’ said Raghu has some mental issues. However, police believe that family issues are behind the murder. Police said a clarity would be obtained only after the investigation is completed.
