THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shashi Tharoor MP has come forward with further explanation as the interview to the national media are being widely discussed. Tharoor said that there is no need to add more oil to the ongoing drama. In the interview, Tharoor said that if the party does not need his services, there are other options. Tharoor had also demanded that the party should utilize his skills properly. He has now given an explanation to this.
'I did not think that the podcast scheduled for February 26 would be breaking today. It does not match the title of the interview. Let's take the responsibility for a comprehensive change in Kerala. Beyond political differences, I want the progress of all Keralites,' Tharoor clarified.
'If the Congress does not need my services, there are other options. The party in Kerala has a leadership crisis. If we do not work hard, will face a setback for the third time. There is a possibility of setback at the national level. The constituent parties are not satisfied. The party should utilize my skills. The people who voted for me have also given me freedom of expression. The surveys conducted by various agencies have indicated that I am fit for the leadership post. I have won from Thiruvananthapuram for the fourth time. People like my opinions outside the party. That is understood by my continued success," Tharoor said in an interview given to the national media.
Meantime, Congress leader K Muraleedharan has responded to Tharoor's interview. The party has never had a leadership shortage in Kerala. Everyone is fit to be in the top position of the party. If Tharoor has any problems in the party, they should be resolved and he should be kept in the party. No one should leave the party. In the present political climate, the party also needs his services. Congress is a democratic movement. Everyone has been given the freedom to express their opinion, but it should not go beyond the limits. So far, he has not gone beyond the limits. He has not said anything about the CM candidate. He is not someone who does not know politics. He wants his services to be utilized, Muraleedharan told media.
