THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning in various districts as a relief from the intense heat. It has been announced that various districts in Kerala will receive rain till February 27.

IMD has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Kannur and Kasaragod districts in the next three hours. There is also a possibility of light rain in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Kozhikode districts today.

The following districts are likely to receive light rain.

February 24: Ernakulam, Kannur, Kasaragod

February 25: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki

February 26: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

February 27: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

Meanwhile, IMD has informed that there is no restriction on fishing along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshdweep coasts today. However, the National Oceanographic Research Centre has informed that rough seas are likely to occur along the Kanyakumari coast from 02.30 pm to 11.30 pm today due to high waves of 0.9 to 1.0 meters. Fishermen and coastal residents are advised to be vigilant as rough seas are likely. As rough seas are likely to intensify, it is also advised to stay away from the danger areas as per the instructions of the authorities.
