KARUKACHAL: Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda said that the progress of the society should not be hindered under the guise of rituals and that change is inevitable with the times. He was speaking at Nethallur, Karukachal, after receiving the deed of the land and building being handed over to Sivagiri Mutt by Sree Narayana Guru Study Centre Director KN Raveendranath.

“Sree Narayana Gurudeva was able to lead a silent revolution against many customs that had been followed for centuries when he saw that these customs were not conducive to progress. Many temples are ready to accept the stance of Sivagiri Mutt because they saw that there was no basis in the argument of some people that devotees should not enter temples wearing clothes covering their upper body,” Swami said.

Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha Central Executive Member Baburaj Vattodil presided over the function. Central Secretary Swami Asanganandagiri inaugurated the Sabha Karukachal unit and distributed certificates. Sivagiri Mutt PRO E.M. Somanathan, Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha Central Advisory Committee Member Kurichi Sadan, District President Sophie Vasudevan, Hindu Aikya Vedi State Secretary E.S. Biju, and Ward Member K.N. Saseendran were present.
