THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rahim, father of Afaan, the accused in the Venjaramoodu mass killing, is still shocked by the brutal act committed by his son. Rahim is in the midst of the hardships of exile and the struggle to make ends meet when the tragic news reached him. He is presently in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

‘This should not happen to anyone. Many say that his son has been using drugs. Want to reach home as soon as possible,’ Rahim breaks down before the media. Rahim is presently entangled in legal troubles related to the renewal of his Iqama. Rahim has not been able to come home for two and a half years.

The tragic news reached Rahim while he was trying to settle everything, pay off his debts and start a new life without any problems.
