THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint reached the police about a forest range officer manhandling a teacher in Thiruvananthapuram. Baiju A, a teacher at Peringammala Iqbal Training College, was beaten up. The incident took place at 3 am yesterday.

Baiju filed a complaint alleging that Palode range officer Sudheesh attacked him mercilessly. Baiju was coming from Kozhikode by car. When the vehicle reached Mailangode forest range, Sudheesh waved the vehicle to stop. Baiju didn’t care to stop as Sudheesh was in his civil dress and could not be recognized.

When the car reached the range office, an officer in uniform beckoned to stop the vehicle and Baiju brought it to a halt. At the same time, Sudheesh reached the place and confronted Baiju for not stopping the vehicle. The altercation morphed into physical assault. Baiju complained that Sudheesh slapped his face several times.
