THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports said Afaan, the accused in the Venjaramoodu mass killing, went to the bar and consumed liquor amidst the brutal act. He went to the bar after hitting four people, including his mother on her head. He spent 10 minutes at the bar in Venjaramoodu. The accused had also bought alcohol to take home. After reaching home, he killed Farsana and his brother and then drank alcohol.
The statement of Afaan could not be taken even after Attingal DySP came in person. The police said the accused was not in a state of mind to give a statement. The investigation team has decided to check Afaan's Google search history. A letter was given to the cyber police demanding it. The accused had told police that had thought about a mass suicide. Afaan had also said that had searched for ways to do this on Google. The new move is based on this statement. Afaan's and his mother Shemi's phones have been given for forensic examination.
After locking Shemi in a room, he went to kill his relatives. After killing three, Afaan went to the bar, returned and killed his brother Afsan and his lover Farsana. He then hit Shemi on her head with a hammer. Shemi is currently in the intensive care unit of Gokulam Medical College in Venjaramoodu. Shemi's health condition is satisfactory. The police are trying to get more clarity on the incident by recording her statement.
