THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fourth-class girl was found hanging in her house at Kulakkode in Vellanad. The 10-year-old girl identified as Dilshitha was found hanging in the washroom of her house.

Dilshitha, her younger sister and grandmother were at home at the time of the incident. Her mother had gone for work. While playing with her sister, she got inside the washroom and locked the door. She was later found hanging using a shawl.

The Aryanad police have registered a case in the incident. Police said there was a fight between the sisters over a pen. She was taken to a hospital in Vellanad, but her life could not be saved. She was a student of Viswadarshini Public School at Uriyacode in Vellanad. The body is kept in the hospital in Vellanad.
