MAMALLAPURAM: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay boasted of wresting power in Tamil Nadu by 2026. He was talking at a meeting of office-bearers in Mahabalipuram on the occasion of the party's first anniversary.
VIJAY:
“It is alleged that the officials of TVK are young. When Anna (CN Annadurai) and MGR Party (Anna DMK) formed the party, it was youngsters who all rallied in support of the party. TVK will repeat the same success. This is a party of the common man. Commoners will emerge as leaders through this party.
My entry into politics made many people uncomfortable. Ironically, people who emerged yesterday in politics are vehemently criticising me. They are simply money-making machines draining government reserves. They should be shown the door.”
Vijay called on voters to unite under the hashtag "GetOut" against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the central government’s purported decision to impose the Hindi language in all states, Vijay's quirky response was ‘What bro, it is very wrong bro'.
