MEXICO CITY: Two-time Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa, and their pet dog were found dead in their home in Santa Fe on Thursday. Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Montosa said nothing suspicious was found in the death. The exact cause and time of death have not been released. Gene Hackman was 95, while Betsy Arakawa was 53.

Gene Hackman was born Eugene Allen Hackman in 1930 in San Bernardino, California. He served in the Navy for three years from the age of 16. Hackman rose to prominence for his character in the movie Bonnie and Clyde, released in 1967. In 1968, he received his first Oscar nomination for the film Incendiary.

He also received an Oscar nomination for his role in the 1970 film I Never Sang for My Father. In 1972, The French Connection won him the Oscar for Best Actor. In 1993, he won his second Oscar for ‘Unforgiven’. Hackman announced his retirement from the film world in 2004. Gene's famous movies include Superman, French Connection, Unforgiven, Mississippi Burning, Bonnie and Clyde, and Runaway Jury.
