KOZHIKODE: Thirty sovereigns of gold that got stolen were found at the owner's home. The incident took place at the house of Sherina, a native of Kumaranallur, Kudangaramukkil, Mukkam Karassery. The gold was found in a bucket where clothes were kept for washing outside the house. The gold was stolen last Saturday.
The theft took place between 8 and 10 pm on Saturday. At this time, Sherina and her family had gone to a relative's house. The thief stole the gold that Sherina's daughter brought with her when she came home for childbirth. The thief, who entered after removing the roof tiles of the house, stole the gold that was kept in boxes inside the cupboard.
Following the incident, Sherina filed a complaint with the Mukkam police, after which it became news. The Mukkam police had registered a case and were investigating. Following this, four days after the theft, the missing 30 sovereigns of gold were found outside the owner's house. The police are investigating to find out who stole them and who brought them back. Sherina and her family are relieved to have the lost gold back.
