THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Those who have successfully completed the Student Police Cadet training at the SSLC and Plus Two levels will be given up to five percent weightage marks in police recruitment. Uniformed services such as excise, fire force, forest guards, etc., recruited by PSC, will also get similar weightage. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting.

Four years of training must have been completed in the high school and higher secondary categories. Also, those who have obtained A-plus grades in the high school and higher secondary categories will get five percent weightage. Four percent weightage will be given to those who have obtained A plus in high school and A grade in higher secondary, and those who have obtained A grade in high school and A plus in higher secondary.

Cadets who completed two years of training in high school or higher secondary and secured A+ will get three percent weightage. Those who complete two years of training in high school or higher secondary and secure an A grade will get two percent weightage. The expansion of the Student Police Cadet scheme in higher educational institutions will be examined.
