CHENNAI: The police will be grilling actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Kajal Aggarwal in crypto currency fraud case. The Puducherry police will be questioning the two in a Rs 2.4 crore scam. The police action is based on a complaint filed by ex-soldier Ashokan of Moolakulam in Puducherry. The complaint said that he was cheated in the crypto currency investment scheme.


Ashokan's complaint said that he decided to invest in crypto currency after seeing an ad online. After meeting an unknown person, invested Rs 10 lakh in the scheme. In 2022, he was invited to a company's launch event in Coimbatore. Tamannaah Bhatia and some other stars were present here. Inspired by the participation of prominent people and the success of the program, Ashokan invested Rs 1 crore and persuaded his ten friends to invest Rs 2.4 crore.


Ashokan was also invited to a function held in Mahabalipuram months later. Kajal Aggarwal was the chief guest at the function. Reports said cars worth Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore were given as gifts to more than 100 investors at the function. Ashokan wanted Rs 8 lakh in cash instead of the car. Ashokan filed a complaint with the police, alleging that he and other investors were cheated. Two identified as Nitish Jain and Arvind Kumar, were arrested in connection with the complaint. The police are questioning the actresses for attending functions connected to the project.
