THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Abdul Rahim was inconsolable on seeing his wife Shemi, undergoing treatment in the hospital after attacked by her elder son Afaan, after seven years. She managed her pain, stared at him for a long time and then asked about her younger son. Rahim controlled his emotions and replied that he has gone for exams and that he would go and pick him from the school.

Shemi did not tell her husband that she was attacked by her eldest son. Rahim also did not inform her about the loss of their younger son. The two spent an hour without being able to say anything to each other. Rahim was in tears after returning from the hospital.

Rahim arrived in Thiruvananthapuram at 8 am on Air India Express from Dammam in Saudi Arabia this morning. From the airport, he went straight to meet his wife in the hospital. He then went to the grave in Thazhe Pangode, where his youngest son, mother, brother and sister-in-law are laid to rest. He spent a lot of time at the grave of his younger son Afsan. He broke down every time his relatives came to console him.

Rahim's financial crisis and lack of residence documents had made his travel difficult. He was able to return home through the intervention of Malayalam social workers in Saudi Arabia and political activists in his state. Abdul Rahim was facing a huge financial burden after his business in Riyadh broke. He could not renew his Iqama for two and a half years. Social activist Naas Vakkam came to Abdul Rahim's rescue. He was the one who cleared the way for him to return home after the passport department confirmed of no police case.
