KASARGOD: A shocking incident has come to light that proves how high the use of drugs among school children has become. Drugs including cannabis were brought to the send-off party of class 10 students held at a school in Kasaragod district. The incident took place at a school under the limits of Kasaragod police station. Sameer (34), a native of Kalanad, Kasaragod, was arrested in connection with the incident.

The police have registered a case against him under the NDPS Act and The Juvenile Justice Section 77. District Police Chief D Shilpa, IPS said that the inspection was conducted after receiving information that school students under the Kasaragod police station limits were using drugs and that the children were under the observation of the anti-drug squad.

When information was received that drugs were being used in the send-off party, the bags of the suspicious students were checked and then questioned. This is how the incident came to light.
