KOCHI: Kuttanad MLA Thomas K. Thomas has been appointed as the NCP State President by National President Sharad Pawar. PK Rajan and PM Suresh Babu have also been appointed as working presidents. Thomas K. Thomas, a member of the NCP National Committee, also serves as the Parliamentary Party Leader, State Executive Committee Member, and Chairman of the Legislative Library Advisory Committee.

Minister PK Saseendran had proposed Thomas K. Thomas for the post of NCP President. Thomas K. Thomas was elected as the president after PC Thomas resigned. Sharad Pawar had called the leaders to Mumbai to resolve the problems in the state NCP. National General Secretary Jitendra Awhad, appointed by Sharad Pawar, and General Secretary in charge of Kerala, Mohammed Faisal, in a meeting with 38 state office bearers, which constitutes a majority, had recommended that Thomas K. Thomas be made the president.

68-year-old Thomas K. Thomas is the son of Chennamkary V.C. Thomas and Eliyamma Thomas in Alappuzha district. He entered politics following the death of his brother and MLA Thomas Chandy and won the 2021 elections from Kuttanad. Wife: Annamma Mathew. Children: Dr. Titu K. Thomas, Dr. Teena K.
