THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Authorities have issued a heatwave alert in Kerala due to rising ultraviolet (UV) index levels. People are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially between 10 AM and 3 PM. In the coming days, temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Kannur is likely to experience temperatures as high as 39°C, while Kasaragod, Kottayam, and Thrissur could see temperatures reaching up to 38°C, according to the forecast.
