THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Venjarammoodu attack victim Shemina is still not ready to testify against her son Afaan in the mass murder case. In her statement to the magistrate, Shemina reiterated that she fell from the bed, which caused her injury. The statement was recorded in the hospital for 45 minutes.

At the same time, more information came out supporting Afaan’s initial statement that the murder was planned as a result of heavy financial debt.

It is reported that Shemina started chit funds to come out of her financial straits but ended up losing everything. As per findings, Shahida got the funds, but she refused to pay. This resulted in Afaan often engaging in heated arguments with his aunt.

It has also been found that the murdered Lathif, husband of Shahida, even informed close relatives about Afaan’s unruly behavior toward them. In his statement to police, Afaan said he had not targeted Shahida initially.

According to Afaan, he smashed Lathif ‘s head with a hammer, which made the latter instantly land on the floor. Hearing the commotion, Shahida came to the room and tried to scream. To stifle her, Afaan landed a blow on her head, and it was fatal.
