KASARAGOD: A case was registered against a Kasaragod native who gave triple Talaq to his 21-year-old wife through WhatsApp. Kasaragod Kalluravi native woman, registered a complaint with the police against Nellikkatta native Abdul Razak.

Abdul Razak, an employee in the Gulf, sent an audio message pronouncing triple talaq to his father-in-law’s phone. The incident took place on February 21.

The victim alleged mental torture and harassment from her in-laws. She alleged that her mother-in-law and her husband’s sisters used to harass her and even locked her in a room without food.

“Even when I used to fall ill, they would not care to take me to the hospital. For the past two years, I have been going through this ordeal. During those times, my husband supported me and was kind. It was for this sole reason that I held to the relationship. I don’t know what made him suddenly choose to walk out of this relationship,” said the victim.

The marriage took place in 2022, while the victim’s father alleged that Abdul Razak siphoned Rs 12 lakhs from him. The Hosdurg police have started an investigation into the incident.
