THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of a possibility of isolated heavy rains in the state today. A yellow alert has been announced in three districts, namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta.64.5 mm to 115.5 meters of rain is likely in the next 24 hours.

IMD has also warned of a possibility of rain at isolated places in the next three hours. Moderate rain is a possibility in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki districts and light rain at isolated places in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.

At the same time, IMD also said the temperature might rise by two to three degrees Celsius above normal. Hot and humid weather is possible due to high temperatures and humid air. The State Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert for the public as high heat is being reported in the state
