MALAPPURAM: A vlogger was arrested for assaulting a woman on the pretext of marriage. Vazhikkadavu native Junaid was arrested in Bengaluru by Malappuram police. Junaid befriended the complainant through social media.

According to the complainant, Junaid took her to various lodges across Malappuram in the last two years. The complaint also mentions that Junaid forcibly took nude photos of the victim during intercourse. Like many of the culprits getting caught in such cases, Junaid also threatened the woman about leaking the photos on social media.

After Malappuram police registered a case, Junaid went into hiding. The accused was caught at Bengaluru Airport while trying to fly abroad.

The accused was caught by a team led by Malappuram Inspector P Vishnu. SI Priyan SK, ASI Tulasi. Officers Dwadish and Manudas Ramachandran were also in the group. Junaid will be produced in court today.
