PALAKKAD: An ITI student was seriously injured in an attack by a classmate in Ottapalam. Sajan (20), a private ITI student, was brutally assaulted, resulting in a broken nose bone. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur.

The incident took place on February 19. In addition to the broken nose, Sajan has a deep wound under his left eye. A case has been registered against his classmate Kishore (20) in connection with the incident. According to the police FIR, Kishore attacked Sajan without any provocation. The Ottapalam police reported that Kishore was released on station bail after being taken into custody. CCTV footage of the assault has been released.

Sajan's mother, Sindhu, stated that her son was attacked while sitting in his seat. He has received three stitches and is in critical condition. The bridge of his nose is crooked, and he is unable to speak. Sindhu revealed that her son had previously mentioned that Kishore had attacked him and threatened to "fix" him if he reported the incident.
