KARACHI: South Africa has entered the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy after defeating England by seven wickets. England, who won the toss and elected to bat against South Africa in Karachi, were all out for 179 runs in 38.2 overs. South Africa achieved the target in 29.1 overs for the loss of three wickets.

England had earlier lost to Australia and Afghanistan. England is the only team to have lost all three matches in this tournament. Marco Jansen, who took three wickets, and Keshav Maharaj, who took two wickets, crushed England. Joe Root, who scored 37 runs, was the top scorer in the English line-up. Jos Buttler, who had announced that he would step down as captain after this match, was dismissed for 21 runs.
