NEW DELHI: Out of 17.48 lakh people who applied for higher EPF pension, 7.35 lakh were ineligible, according to the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). Higher EPF pension is being granted based on the Supreme Court order of November 2022. Pension Payment Order (PPO) was sent to only 21,885 eligible people till February 28. Demand notices were handed over to 165,621 people asking them to deposit more amount to get higher pension. Those who deposit this amount will get higher pension.

Only 27.35 percent of applications were settled in Kerala. Over two lakh applications have been scrutinized. 3.92 lakh incomplete and conflicting applications were returned to the employer.
