THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Afaan, the accused in the Venjaramoodu mass killing case, had planned to kill two more of his relatives. Afaan said that he had planned to kill a woman and her daughter at Thattathumala in Kilimanoor.


He revealed this to the psychiatrist who visited him. Afaan revealed that he had planned to kill the two, but after killing others, he lost his morale and gave up the plan.

Meantime, Afaan will be shifted from the medical college hospital to the jail today. He is being shifted to the jail after doctors informed about his health condition. He is likely to be arrested in two cases related to the massacre. The Venjaramoodu police will be recording his arrest. The arrests are in the cases of killing his brother Afsan, girlfriend Farsana at his house and paternal uncle Latheef and his wife Shahida at their house in Chullalam. The Pangode police had earlier recorded his arrest in the case of killing his grandmother Salma Beevi. Evidence will be collected soon after he is arrested.


The police are planning to prepare the charge sheet after studying his mental condition. Many including the police had earlier expressed suspicion on his mental issues. The present conclusion is that the reason for the murder is financial liabilities. Afaan told police that he had asked a loan of Rs 5 lakh to his relatives and was angry towards them for not giving him the amount asked.


However, Afaan's father Abdul Rahim said that he was not aware of any major financial obligations to his family. The police will investigate in detail about the financial transactions of Afaan and his mother and about the money Rahim sent to take Farsana’s gold pawned. The police will question all the people who gave money to the family.
