CHANDIGARH: A body of a Congress activist has been found inside a suitcase near the bus stand. The body is that of 22-year-old Himani Narwal from Katura village in Sonipat. The suitcase was found near the Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway yesterday.

Himani Narwal had participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi in Haryana. She was also an active participant in various political events, including with Rohtak MP Deepinder Hooda. Himani was also a Haryanvi dancer, a folk-art form.

Locals who saw the suitcase abandoned near the bus stand informed the police. Himani's dead body had multiple injuries. There were strangulation marks, the police said. The police have concluded that the body of the woman was dumped in a suitcase near the bus stand after being murdered elsewhere. The police said that they are examining CCTV footage and have intensified the investigation.

Congress leaders, shocked by Himani's death, have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
