THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A rain alert has been issued for four districts in Kerala for the next three hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rainfall is expected in isolated places in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts.
Meanwhile, due to the intense daytime heat, people have been advised to avoid prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. Such exposure can lead to sunburn, skin diseases, eye disorders, and other health issues.
The UV index is recorded at its highest between 10 AM and 3 PM. Therefore, it is advisable to minimize direct exposure to sunlight during these hours.
People engaged in outdoor work, fishermen involved in coastal and inland fishing, those working in water transport, bikers, tourists, individuals with skin or eye diseases, cancer patients, and those with weakened immunity should exercise extra caution.
