CHANDIGARH: Accused Sachin has confessed to the murder of Congress woman leader in Haryana. Police say that Sachin killed Himani Narwal by strangling her with a mobile phone charger around her neck. The police have recorded the arrest of the accused. Himani Narwal's body was found cut into pieces and left in a suitcase.

Sachin, who runs a mobile shop, is married. He met Himani through social media. He had visited Himani's house in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak, several times. The accused had visited the woman's residence on February 27. The two then got into a fight and during the fight, the accused killed the woman by strangling her with a mobile charger cable around her neck, Rohtak ADGP Krishan Kumar Rao said.

The accused had taken the woman's jewellery, mobile phone and laptop after the murder. Then he kept the body in a suitcase. The suitcase, which was initially kept at home, was later abandoned near the bus stand. A fight between the two resulted in the murder. However, it is not clear what caused the fight. The accused who was arrested by the police had bite marks and other injuries on his body.

Police say that Himani and Sachin had made financial transactions. Sachin himself has admitted that the injuries on his body were caused when Himani tried to stop his attack. Himani's brother is demanding the death penalty for the accused who killed his sister. He also asked that unnecessary news regarding the death not be spread.

Himani's mother Savita had alleged that Congress workers were behind her daughter's murder. "Many were jealous of my daughter's rise in the party. She received frequent threat messages. No Congress leader contacted after her death," she said. Himani had participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra with Rahul. Police said the accused has no connection with the Congress.
