KANNUR: The family of a newlywed bride who committed suicide at her husband’s house came forward alleging mystery in the death. 20-year-old Nikitha, a native of Valiyaparambu, died on the 17th of last month at her husband Vaishakh's house. The woman was found hanging from the bedroom window. Nikitha’s family alleged that she went through serious mental torture from Vaisakh and in-laws. The family also complained about Taliparamba police not giving enough consideration to the case.

According to the family, the police delayed taking statements from Vaisakh’s family despite the complaint being filed earlier. The family is not ready to back out and informed media that they would go to any extent to ensure justice.

Nikitha was a student of the Lourde College of Nursing in Taliparamba. She married Vaisakh on April 1, 2024.
