LHASA: A powerful earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck Tibet at 02:44 pm local time (12:14 pm Indian time) on Tuesday afternoon. The earthquake had its epicentre at a depth of 5 kilometres. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. This earthquake follows another recent seismic event in Tibet, where a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred on February 27.

Meanwhile, before the earthquake in Tibet, a separate earthquake was recorded in Afghanistan at approximately 2 pm. The epicentre was located 69 kilometres away from Kalafgan and at a depth of 10 kilometres. This region experienced significant tremors, adding to the series of recent seismic activities in the area.

Additionally, India experienced an earthquake a few days ago, shaking the national capital, New Delhi. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) identified the epicentre as Jhel Park in Delhi's Dhaula Kuan. Aftershocks were also felt in Bihar at around 8 am, causing many residents to rush out of their homes in a state of confusion, as they were asleep. Video footage capturing the shaking of houses and flats has emerged, highlighting the intensity of the tremors.

In response to the earthquake in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted a message urging people to remain alert and assured that the situation is being closely monitored.
