KOLLAM: The flag will be hoisted in Kollam today for the CPM state conference. The delegate conference will be held at C Kesavan Memorial Town Hall (Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nagar) from tomorrow to the 9th. The CPM state conference is being held in Kollam, the land of unyielding resistance, after 30 years.

The flag, torch and flagpole processions that started their journey from the martyrs' graves in Kayyur, Vayalar and Sooranad will converge at Sitaram Yechury Nagar at Kollam Ashram Maidanam at 5 pm today. Torches from 23 martyrs' graves in the district will also arrive. Minister KN Balagopal, the chairman of the organizing committee, will hoist the flag.

A public meeting with lakhs of participants and a parade of a quarter of a lakh Red Volunteers will be held at the Ashram Maidan in the afternoon on the 9th. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hoist the party flag at the Town Hall tomorrow at 10 am. Politburo Coordinator Prakash Karat will inaugurate the representative meeting. State Secretary MV Govindan will present the work report.

Continuity of governance is also one of the main objectives of the conference along with reviewing the political and organizational matters of the previous organizational period. For this, the Chief Minister will present the second Nava Kerala document called 'Nava Keralathinayi Puthu Vazhikal'.

Politburo members M.A. Baby, B.V. Raghavulu, Brinda Karat, Subhashini Ali, Ashok Dhawale, A. Vijayaraghavan and others will participate in the conference from the beginning to the end.

Working report, second Nava Kerala document

The general discussion of the delegates will be based on the working report, second Nava Kerala document and the draft political resolution of the central committee. Criticism may be raised in the general discussion although it will not be too harsh against the central and state leaderships and the state government.
