KOCHI: The Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce has agreed to the state government's invitation for talks on the issues facing the film industry. A meeting with Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian will be held after March 10, following which a decision will be made regarding the token strike. This decision was made during a meeting held in Kochi to discuss the film strike. Film Chamber President B.R. Jacob emphasized that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is responsible for making decisions on issues related to violence in films.
"There is no doubt regarding the fact that violence in films has an impact on society. The film strike will still take place on June 1, with no changes. We had previously announced a token strike, but we have now decided to reassess our position on this. During the talks with the government, we will raise several issues, including taxes. If there is no positive response, we will proceed with the token strike," the Film Chamber stated.
