THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has once again issued a warning for Kerala, stating that the state will experience high temperatures from today to Friday. The temperature in Thrissur and Palakkad districts will rise up to 38 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts will be around 37°C. In Alappuzha and Malappuram districts, the temperature will reach 36°C. Hence, a yellow alert has been declared for the state.

The IMD informed that the temperature will be around 3°C higher than usual. Due to the high temperatures and humid air, discomforting conditions are expected. People who go outside between 11 AM and 3 PM are advised to exercise caution. As there is a possibility of heatstroke, care should be taken to avoid direct sunlight. The ultraviolet index is also high. Both the Meteorological Department and the Disaster Management Department have advised people to drink plenty of water.
