KOZHIKODE: A woman was flooded with obscene calls after her phone number was written on the toilet of a train. She filed a complaint with the police and the railway police, suspecting that it was done out of personal animosity. The number of a woman belonging to Valanchery was written on the toilet of the Kannur-Shornur Memu. Her name and obscene words were added along with the number.
This woman had recently filed a complaint against a man of Vadakara at the Kozhikode Kasaba station. The police had summoned and questioned him. The woman alleged in her complaint that the number might have been written against it. She started receiving obscene phone calls continuously, but she did not understand how this happened. In the meanwhile, one of the train passengers called and informed her that her number was written in the toilet.
The woman then filed a complaint with the railway police. When the railway police conducted an inspection, they identified the toilet where the number was written. The complainant is a volunteer and palliative worker of the social welfare department. The complaint also requested the police to take immediate action to prevent such atrocities against women. The police are investigating the incident. It has not been found yet who had written the number. The railway officials have removed the number from there.
