ALAPPUZHA: A civil police officer in Alappuzha risked his own life by entering a railway track to save a 24-year-old youngster who was about to jump in front of a speeding train. Nishad, a civil police officer, got near the youngster at the right time and was able to persuade him out of the ill move. The incident took place today at 7 am.

Haripad police station forwarded a phone number to Nishad and asked him to trace the location. The location was found to be just 5 km away, near a railway track. Even after some time, the location remained unchanged, which made the officials fear the worst. The information was passed to the railway gatekeeper, and a request was made to stop the train for the time being. However, it was found that the train had already left the station, and the idea of stopping the train was no longer feasible. Nishad then took his bike and rushed to the spot.

The gatekeeper then passed information that the boy was spotted near the railway track. Nishad parked his bike in a hurry near the track and rushed to the location. Alas, the train was speeding at this time and reaching near the youngster was a no brianer.

Nishad somehow reached the youngster and begged him not to jump. This might have distracted the youngster who gave up the plan and moved aside while the train passed through.

“Brother, please don’t jump…I am pleading, please don’t do it.” In the video, Nishad can be heard saying.
