THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The gruesome murder of Afsan, the younger boy killed by brother Afaan reached mother Shemina’s ears on Thursday. Shemina, who is undergoing treatment after the attack, was told about the news by doctors. However, they kept Afaan’s role in the murder hidden from her.

It is reported that the doctors presented the matter to Shemina on the pretext that Afsan had committed suicide. Doctors also told her that Afaan had attempted suicide and was undergoing treatment in the ICU. Shemina, who was seriously injured in the attack by Afaan, is undergoing treatment in the hospital. She is unaware of the fact that her son killed five people.

Shemina kept on asking about her children to all the relatives who visited her at the hospital. She was disturbed that visitors did not reveal anything about her children. It was on Thursday that the doctors decided to tell her the news of Afsan’s death.

Shemina burst into tears hearing the news, yelling, “My son is gone!”.

Doctors will disclose the other death news in a phase-to-phase manner. After that, the investigation team will record the statement. Shemina told the doctors that she was injured after falling from the bed. Shemina is currently undergoing treatment at a private medical college in Venjarammoodu.

Meanwhile, Afaan, who is in police custody, stood firm by his earlier statement about humungous debt leading to all the murders. Afaan disclosed his grudge against grandmother after the latter refused to give him a gold necklace. Afaan said he had watched all recent violent movies in Mollywood but ruled out the chances of them inspiring him to murder.
