TANUR: Schoolgirls Fathima and Aswathy, missing from Malappuram, have reportedly reached Mumbai. According to police, a young man from Edavanna is accompanying them. The girls left home for school on Wednesday afternoon. After changing out of their uniforms and wearing different clothes, they boarded a train from Tirur railway station.

The last call that reached the two girls was found to be from the same number. In the investigation, it was found that the SIM was in the name of a Malappuram native, while the location was given as Maharashtra. Meanwhile, based on information that the girls were in Kozhikode, relatives and police conducted a search focused on Kozhikode throughout the day but to no avail.

Meanwhile, the police, who reached the house of the Edavanna-based youngster, questioned his family members and found out the facts. The relatives admitted to the police that he had gone to Mumbai. The police are now intensifying the investigation, focusing on Mumbai.

Fathima Shahada and Aswathy of Devadhar Higher Secondary School in Tanur went missing yesterday afternoon.
