NEW DELHI: An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer committed suicide by jumping from the top of a building. The officer, Jitendra Rawat, jumped to his death from the fourth floor of the building at around 6 am. The incident took place in Delhi's Chanakyapuri. Jitendra Rawat died on the spot. Further investigation into the officer's death is underway.

The Ministry of External Affairs has also confirmed the death of Jitendra Rawat. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that all possible assistance is being provided to the officer's family and that it is in touch with the Delhi Police.

Jitendra Rawat was reportedly undergoing treatment for depression. He was staying with his mother in the MEA Residential Complex. Jitendra Rawat, who was a resident of the first floor, jumped from the fourth floor. Jitendra's wife and children live in Dehradun.
