NEDUMBASSERY: It was a policeman who bought 27 of the 29 goats stolen three times from a farm in Kunnukara. A case was registered against the Sreemoolanagaram native CPO of the Ernakulam AR camp based on the statements of the accused arrested on January 14 in the theft case. However, no arrest has been made even after a month and a half.

Chengamanadu SI Sathish Kumar, who is investigating the case, told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that the arrest was not made because the CPO approached the High Court. He tried to get anticipatory bail in the Ernakulam Sessions Court but was not granted. It is alleged that the arrest is being delayed because the CPO is a police association leader.

The policeman claims that it was his father who bought the goat and paid the amount from his phone through Google Pay. The police arrested Sarath of Kuthiathodu Thinappulam, Draphine of Attupuram Maliyekkal, Rahul of Ayyampuzha Kadukulangara, Faris of Idavanakkad Kuzhuppilly, and Kalesh of Desam Puriyar on the morning of January 14, while attempting to steal goats.

They stole 29 goats from the farm of Babu, a native of Kunnukara, three times since last May.
