THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: High temperatures are expected in 11 districts of Kerala today, prompting a yellow alert in these regions. The yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Thrissur and Palakkad may experience temperatures up to 38°C. The temperatures in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod are expected to reach 37°C. Alappuzha and Malappuram could see temperatures up to 36°C. These temperatures are 2 to 3 degrees Celsius higher than usual, increasing the risk of heatstroke in these areas.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded a high ultraviolet (UV) index, with the highest level recorded at the Kottarakkara station in Kollam.
