MALAPPURAM: A youngster was held by police in connection with the missing of two schoolgirls from Tanur. The police arrested Rahim Aslam, a native of Edavanna, who is believed to have helped the two girls leave the state. The man, who had returned from Mumbai, was taken into custody by the Tanur police from Tirur.

Meanwhile, the investigation team will arrive in Kerala today with the schoolgirls from Pune. The police left with the children on the Garib Rath Express on Friday evening. They will reach Tirur railway station by this afternoon. The girls were found at Lonavala station near Pune by Friday morning. Tanur police then headed for Pune to bring back the girls.

Malappuram District Police Chief R Viswanath said they would inquire about other matters in detail after the children arrive back in Kerala. The footage of the children arriving at a beauty parlor in Mumbai turned crucial in tracking down the girls.
