KOTTAYAM: Police haven’t yet been able to locate the mobile phone said to be crucial in the case of a mother and her two children’s death in Ettumanoor. The police are still searching for the suicide victim Shiny's phone.
Shiny's husband, Noby Lucas, stated that he had called her the day before her death. It is believed that some of the conversations in this phone call provoked Shiny to mull suicide. Police searched the railway track where Shiny committed suicide but failed to find the mobile phone. Police enquired with Shiny’s parents about the mobile phone, but they proved helpless. Currently, Shiny's mobile phone is switched off.
The police have not fully taken into account the statements given by Shiny's father and mother about the case. The police will also investigate whether Shiny suffered from mental stress at home. The police will again record the statements of Shiny's father, Kuriakose and mother Molly.
On February 28th at 4.44 am, Shiny left her house with her daughters Alina and Ivana and reached the railway track through the road opposite the house. CCTV footage clearly shows Shiny holding her younger daughter Ivana's hand and dragging her away.
A day before Shiny committed suicide, Noby had called her in an inebriated condition and purportedly insulted her with disparaging comments. Noby said he would not cooperate with Shiny for divorce or pay money for the children’s education. Noby admitted all this during police interrogation.
