KOTTAYAM: A crucial piece of evidence has been found in the case of the mother and children who committed rail suicide in Ettumanoor. It is the phone of the deceased Shiny. The police recovered the phone from Shiny's house. The phone was locked.

Shiny's husband Nobi Lukose's statement was that Shiny had called him the day before her death. It is believed that some of the conversations in this phone call are what provoked the mass suicide. Shiny's phone and Nobi's phone will be subjected to scientific examination. The police had searched for the phone at the railway track where Shiny jumped in front of the train. The phone was not found in the previous search at home either. When the police asked the parents, they replied that they did not know where the phone was.

Shiny left her house with her two daughters, Evana Mariya Noby (10) and Aleena Elisabeth Noby (11) on February 28, at 4.44 am. She reached the railway track through the road opposite the house. CCTV footage clearly shows Shiny holding her younger daughter Ivana's hand and dragging her away. Nobi Lucas had called Shiny on the phone the day before Shiny committed suicide. Nobi, who called while drunk, verbally abused Shiny. He said that he would not cooperate in the divorce case and would not pay for the children's education. Nobi shied away from responsibility for the loan taken for his father's treatment. Nobi has admitted to all these things during police interrogation. The police have concluded that this is what may have led to the suicide of Shiny and her daughters.
