KASARAGOD: An elderly man died of sunstroke. The deceased was Kunjikannan (92), a native of Kayyur, Kasaragod. The incident took place at around 2:30 pm today. Kunjikannan suffered a sunstroke near his house.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a high-temperature warning in various districts. Today, a yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.

Today and tomorrow, the maximum temperature in Kollam, Palakkad and Kozhikode districts is likely to rise to 37°C and in Pathanamthitta, Thrissur and Kannur districts to 36°C (2 - 3°C higher than normal).

IMD has informed that light/medium rain with thundershowers and strong winds gusting up to 40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram district in the next three hours.
