THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report of the Land Revenue Joint Commissioner underlines the allegation that former Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya is responsible for Naveen Babu's death.

There is no evidence that Naveen took or asked for a bribe for the petrol pump permit. It could all be Divya's fabricated allegations. Divya made a planned effort to humiliate him. The report was forwarded to the Revenue Department Principal Secretary and Chief Secretary.

Divya's arrival at the farewell meeting at the Collectorate was planned. Before the meeting, Divya had contacted the District Collector on the phone. The Collector had told her not to come to the meeting. However, Divya ignored this and attended. Before the ceremony, Divya also called the Collector's staff four times.

Divya came to the meeting determined to make allegations against Naveen. The meeting was videotaped. Divya also arranged for Kannur Vision representatives to film it. Their statements were also collected as part of the investigation. The statement is that Divya took the video after the meeting.

Naveen Babu's family said that the investigation report which found no evidence that Naveen Babu took bribes will benefit the case. The complaint was filed mentioning the names of Divya and Prashanthan, who filed the false complaint. Yet, only Divya was named as an accused. This is to weaken the case. He also said that when he told the investigating officers about the conspiracy, they were scornful.

Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha also said that there is a mystery behind not naming Prashanthan as an accused. An honest report has now come out. This will be helpful in the legal battle. The role of the collector who changed his statement should also be investigated. It should also be examined whether there are other reasons for Divya to have so much hatred towards Naveen.
