KOTTAYAM: A crucial phone conversation in the incident where a woman committed suicide along with her two daughters in Ettumanoor, has emerged. The three dead are Shiny Kuriakose and her two daughters Aleena and Ivana. A phone conversation of Shiny, who committed suicide by jumping in front of a train with her daughters, with the president of the Kudumbashree unit in Karinkunnam just before her death has emerged.

The parents of Noby, husband of Shiny, had taken a loan from Kudumbashree in her name. The loan was defaulted. Shiny said that she cannot repay the loan taken from Kudumbashree and that the repayment was stalled because her husband did not give her money.

She was unable to do anything. If it had been taken for her own needs, her brothers would have paid it. It is not a loan taken for her own needs. Noby said that he will give money only after a decision comes on the divorce case. Noby is not even paying the premium of the insurance taken in her name, Shiny was heard saying in the phone conversation.

The members of Kudumbashree clarified that Shiny still has to pay Rs 1,26,000. Kudumbashree members had filed a complaint with the Karinkunnam police after she defaulted the loan payment. The panchayat president later mediated in the matter.

Shiny's mobile phone, which was crucial in the case, was found the other day. The police recovered the phone from Shiny's house. The phone was found locked. Shiny's husband Noby Lukose stated that he had called her the day before her death. It is believed that some of the conversations in this call led her to take the drastic step.
